About SHINee

SHINee are a South Korean boy group formed by SM Entertainment, who debuted on May 25, 2008 with the EP "Replay." The group debuted with five members: Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. Introduced as a contemporary R&B group, they became known for their style, intricate choreography, and influence on K-pop fashion, earning a reputation as trendsetters of the second generation. Hits such as "Ring Ding Dong," "Lucifer," "Sherlock," and "View" charted strongly, and the group achieved significant success in Japan as well. Several members pursued notable solo careers, particularly Taemin and Key. Member Jonghyun died in December 2017, and the group continued as a four-piece. Widely respected for their musicianship and consistency, SHINee are frequently cited as one of the defining boy groups of their era and an influence on later K-pop acts.
