IZ*ONE were a South Korean-Japanese girl group formed through the 2018 reality competition program "Produce 48," a collaboration between Mnet and Japan's AKB48 franchise. The twelve-member project group debuted on October 29, 2018 with the EP "Color*Iz" and its single "La Vie en Rose," managed in Korea by Off the Record Entertainment. The lineup featured Jang Wonyoung, Sakura Miyawaki, Jo Yuri, Choi Yena, An Yujin, Nako Yabuki, Kwon Eunbi, Kang Hyewon, Hitomi Honda, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minju, and Lee Chaeyeon. Built around a bright, polished pop concept, IZ*ONE achieved strong album sales and chart success with releases such as "Violeta" and "Fiesta," becoming one of the most commercially successful project groups of K-pop's third generation. As planned from the outset, the group disbanded in 2021 after its fixed activity period, and several members went on to debut in other groups, including IVE and LE SSERAFIM.
