About 2NE1

2NE1 were a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment, who debuted on May 6, 2009 with the single "Fire." The group consisted of four members: CL, Bom, Dara, and Minzy. The name combines "21st century" and "New Evolution," and the group built a reputation for bold, genre-blending music, edgy fashion, and strong stage presence. Their debut EP yielded the hits "Fire" and "I Don't Care," and a run of singles including "I Am the Best," "Ugly," "Come Back Home," and "Can't Nobody" made them one of the most influential girl groups of K-pop's second generation. The act also achieved commercial success in Japan and drew international attention to Korean pop. Minzy left the group in 2016, and 2NE1 disbanded later that year, with members including CL and Dara continuing solo and other work. The group is widely cited as a trailblazing influence on later girl groups.
