About Yuqi

Yuqi, born Song Yuqi in Beijing, China, is a singer and rapper signed to Cube Entertainment and a member of the girl group (G)I-DLE, which debuted in May 2018. Within the group she serves as a vocalist and rapper, and she is one of its Chinese members. She first pursued solo music in China, releasing the single album "A Page" in May 2021. Her official solo debut as a K-pop artist came on April 23, 2024 with the mini-album YUQ1, whose title stylizes her name with the number one in place of the letter I. The EP was promoted with the singles "Could It Be" and "Freak" and drew more than 500,000 pre-orders, selling over 550,000 copies in its first week, a first-week record at the time for a debut EP by a female K-pop soloist. She became the third member of (G)I-DLE to debut as a soloist, after Miyeon and Minnie.
