Yuju released the single "First Love Is a Curse" on April 29, 2026. A lowkey, acoustic-leaning pop track with a softly swinging, guitar-driven arrangement, it steps away from the power vocals of her group era toward a more restrained delivery. The lyrics frame a first love remembered as a lingering curse, beautiful enough to haunt. Yuju took part in writing the song, with production from GroovyRoom. It is a standalone single that continues the understated solo direction she has explored since going independent.
