About Wanna One

Wanna One were a South Korean project boy group formed through the second season of the Mnet survival show Produce 101, which aired in 2017. The eleven members, selected by viewer votes, were Kang Daniel, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon. Operating under Swing Entertainment and CJ E&M, the group debuted on August 7, 2017 with the EP "1x1=1 (To Be One)" and its title track "Energetic." As one of the most commercially dominant acts of K-pop's third generation, Wanna One topped Korean charts with releases such as "Beautiful" and "Boomerang" and drew large audiences to their concerts. Bound by the limited-run contract typical of Produce 101 groups, they disbanded in January 2019 after a farewell concert series. Members went on to solo careers and to groups including AB6IX, with Kang Daniel, Ha Sung-woon, and others establishing notable solo runs after the group's planned dissolution.
