About Kang Daniel

Kang Daniel is a South Korean singer who rose to fame in 2017 as the first-place finisher on the second season of Mnet's survival show Produce 101. His win made him the center of the temporary project group Wanna One, one of the most commercially dominant K-pop acts of its era, which promoted through late 2017 and 2018. After Wanna One disbanded, he established his own company, Konnect Entertainment, to manage his solo career. He released his solo debut EP, Color on Me, in mid-2019; it topped South Korea's album chart and marked a strong commercial start to his independent career. His subsequent solo work moved toward darker, hip-hop and R&B-influenced material across a series of EPs and a studio album. A prominent soloist of the third generation, Kang Daniel built much of his career around self-managed releases, concert tours, and ventures beyond music.
