About T.O.P

T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun) is a South Korean rapper and actor, born November 4, 1987. He performed as an underground rapper under the name Tempo before signing with YG Entertainment and debuting in 2006 as a rapper of the group BIGBANG, one of the most commercially successful acts of K-pop's second generation. Within BIGBANG, T.O.P contributed his deep-toned rap delivery to hits such as "Lies," "Fantastic Baby," and "Bang Bang Bang," and the group earned widespread recognition across Asia and major year-end awards. He released solo material including the 2010 digital single "Turn It Up" and, with groupmate G-Dragon, the subunit GD&TOP. T.O.P also built an acting career, appearing in projects such as the film "71: Into the Fire" and, later, the second season of the Netflix series "Squid Game." He withdrew from BIGBANG in 2023. His career remains anchored by his BIGBANG legacy and his distinctive low vocal tone, which became one of the most recognizable rap deliveries of the second generation.
