About BIGBANG

BIGBANG are a South Korean boy group formed by YG Entertainment, who debuted on August 19, 2006 with the single album "BIGBANG." The group debuted with five members: G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri. Blending hip-hop, R&B, electronic, and pop, and known for member-driven songwriting and production led largely by G-Dragon, they became one of the most influential acts of K-pop's second generation. Hits such as "Lies," "Last Farewell," "Haru Haru," "Fantastic Baby," and "Bang Bang Bang" defined much of their career, and the group achieved major commercial success in Japan as well. Several members built notable solo careers, particularly G-Dragon and Taeyang. Seungri left the entertainment industry in 2019, and T.O.P later departed the group, leaving G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung. Often described as helping spread the Korean Wave internationally, BIGBANG are widely cited as a foundational influence on later generations of Korean pop.
