NiziU released TOO BAD on March 31, 2026, the title track of their Japanese EP GOOD GIRL BUT NOT FOR YOU. The song is a mid-tempo pop track with a sleek, confident girl-crush tone and attitude-driven lyrics about independence, marking a shift toward a cooler, chicer concept for the group. It was produced by the team 3SCAPE DRM along with several outside writers. NiziU debuted in 2020 under JYP Entertainment.

NiziU are a nine-member Japanese girl group formed by JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Entertainment Japan through the 2020 reality-survival program Nizi Project. The members are Mako, Rio, Maya, Riku, Ayaka, Mayuka, Rima, Miihi, and Nina. The group is part of JYP's localization strategy of applying Korean idol training and production systems to a Japan-based act. They pre-released a digital EP, "Make You Happy," on June 30, 2020, which topped Billboard Japan's Hot Albums chart, and officially debuted on December 2, 2020 with the single "Step and a Step." That debut single reached number one on the Oricon weekly singles chart in its first week, ranking among the strongest girl-group debut sales on Oricon. NiziU went on to perform at the year-end Kohaku Uta Gassen and continued releasing Japanese-language singles and albums, establishing themselves as one of the more prominent fourth-generation acts operating primarily in the Japanese market, and they later expanded into Korean-language releases as well.
