About NewJeans

NewJeans is a girl group formed by ADOR, a label under HYBE, who debuted in July 2022. They launched with the single "Attention," followed quickly by "Hype Boy" and "Cookie," and drew immediate attention for a clean, retro-leaning pop and R&B sound that stood apart from prevailing K-pop trends. The debut five-member lineup featured Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, several of them raised outside South Korea. Their early run produced some of the most successful K-pop releases of the period: "Ditto" became the longest-running number one on South Korea's Circle Digital Chart and the group's first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, while the EP "Get Up" topped the US Billboard 200 and sold over a million copies. Known for a youthful aesthetic and heavy crossover appeal, NewJeans quickly became one of the most talked-about acts of K-pop's fourth generation and a major commercial force for HYBE in their first years of activity.
