About J-Hope

J-Hope, whose given name is Jung Ho-seok, is a South Korean rapper, dancer, and a member of BTS, with whom he debuted in 2013. Known within the group as its lead dancer and a core rapper, he released the well-received mixtape "Hope World" in 2018, which charted on the US Billboard 200. In 2022 he became the first BTS member to promote as a soloist with his debut album "Jack in the Box," an old-school hip-hop influenced record, and he headlined the main stage at the Lollapalooza festival, a first for a South Korean artist. He followed with collaborations including "On the Street" with J. Cole, and in 2024 released the dance-focused project "Hope on the Street Vol. 1" alongside a documentary series. J-Hope co-writes and co-produces much of his solo material. He is regarded as one of the most accomplished soloists of K-pop's third generation.
