Agust D is the solo rap project of Suga, whose given name is Min Yoon-gi, a member of BTS and one of the group's main producers, who debuted with BTS in 2013. Under the Agust D name he explores a harder, more personal hip-hop style than his group work. He released the mixtapes "Agust D" in 2016 and "D-2" in 2020, then completed the trilogy with his debut studio album "D-Day" in 2023, which reached number two on the US Billboard 200 and drew critical acclaim. "D-Day" featured collaborators including IU and the late composer Ryuichi Sakamoto, and was supported by a world tour. As Suga, he is also a prolific songwriter and producer for BTS and other artists. Across both identities, he is regarded as one of the most respected rapper-producers of K-pop's third generation.
