Kim Jun-su, known professionally as XIA (and also as Junsu), is a South Korean singer-songwriter and musical theatre actor. He debuted in 2003 as a member of TVXQ, a group formed under SM Entertainment, and in 2010 co-founded the group JYJ with two fellow members following a contract dispute. That same year he began his solo music career, releasing the Japanese extended play Xiah, and in 2012 issued his first Korean studio album, Tarantallegra. Alongside his recording work he became active in musical theatre, making his stage debut in 2010 in the title role of Mozart! and later appearing in productions such as Elisabeth, Death Note, and Dracula. His music spans pop, R&B, and ballad styles, while his theatrical work has been a defining part of his career. In November 2021 he established his own agency, Palm Tree Island, where he serves as chief executive, continuing to release solo music and perform in stage productions.
