QWER are a South Korean girl band under Tamago Production, formed through a YouTube project that assembled members from among female online personalities and musicians. The four members are Chodan (drums), Magenta (bass), Hina (keyboard), and Siyeon, the last a former member of the Japanese idol group NMB48. The band debuted on October 18, 2023 with the single album "Harmony from Discord," led by the track "Discord." QWER perform a guitar-driven, anime- and rock-influenced pop style with the members playing their own instruments, distinguishing them from typical dance-focused idol groups. Their 2024 single "My Name Is Malguem" and follow-up releases expanded their following and chart presence in Korea. As a fifth-generation act that originated partly from internet content creation, QWER occupy a niche bridging band music and idol culture, and they have drawn attention for reviving interest in girl-group band formats. Their releases lean on bright, melodic rock arrangements and the members' online followings, and the group has performed at festivals and music programs as a self-playing band rather than a dance-centered act.
