About PSY

PSY is the stage name of Park Jae-sang, a South Korean singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer who debuted in January 2001 with the album "PSY from the Psycho World!" Known for comedic, satirical lyrics and energetic performance, he built a steady domestic career before achieving global fame in 2012 with "Gangnam Style," the lead single from his album "PSY 6 (Six Rules), Part 1." The song's music video became the first YouTube video to surpass one billion views and reached the top of charts worldwide, with "Gangnam Style" peaking inside the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100. He followed it with "Gentleman" and other singles. After leaving YG Entertainment in 2018, PSY founded the label P Nation, which has signed a range of Korean artists. Associated with K-pop's second generation, he is widely credited with introducing many international audiences to Korean popular music.
