About PLAVE

PLAVE is a South Korean virtual boy group formed by Vlast, consisting of five members, Yejun, Noah, Bamby, Eunho, and Hamin, who perform as animated characters driven by real performers through motion-capture technology. The group's name combines "play" and the French word "rêve," meaning dream. They debuted on March 12, 2023 with the single album "Asterum," and adopted a distinctive webtoon-style visual design aimed at audiences familiar with animation and games. Despite being fully virtual, PLAVE achieved substantial real-world commercial success, with EPs selling hundreds of thousands of copies and singles such as "Pump Up The Volume!" gaining wide attention. Several members are part of the group's producing line, contributing to their music. PLAVE became the most commercially successful virtual idol group in K-pop to date and a leading example of the genre's growth. They rank among the notable acts of K-pop's fifth generation.
