NOWZ released the digital single "Achilles" on August 5, 2026, a Gen Z take on 1980s disco. The song moves the group toward a more mature and sensual sound than the bright, youthful material it started with. It was the group's first Korean release in ten months, arriving five months after its Japanese debut EP, NOWZ.

NOWZ is a South Korean boy group formed by Cube Entertainment. Originally named Nowadays, the five-member group debuted on April 2, 2024, with the eponymous single album Nowadays, promoting a self-described "Days pop" sound meant to feel woven into everyday life. The original name expressed a wish to make listeners curious about the present and to build lasting memories with fans over the days ahead. The group later rebranded as NOWZ, a name that pairs "now," for the present moment, with "Z," which the group describes as a symbol of expanded possibilities and a new beginning. Member Hyeonbin first drew attention as a contestant on the 2019 Mnet survival series Produce X 101 before training for the group's debut. In the weeks before debut, Cube introduced the members gradually through concept videos built around words such as "curious," "dreamy," and "youthful," setting the bright, youthful image the group has carried through its singles and extended plays.
