MONSTA X are a South Korean boy group formed by Starship Entertainment through the 2014 to 2015 survival program No.Mercy. They debuted on May 14, 2015 with the EP "Trespass" and its title track of the same name, a hip-hop-driven release in keeping with the group's intense, performance-focused concept. The debut lineup featured seven members: Shownu, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon, I.M, and Wonho, with Wonho departing in 2019. Known for energetic singles such as "Shine Forever," "Dramarama," and "Shoot Out," the latter of which won a daesang at the Genie Music Awards, MONSTA X built a strong international fan base during K-pop's third generation. They also pursued an English-language crossover, releasing the all-English album "All About Luv" in 2020, which charted on the US Billboard 200. As one of the more globally active third-generation boy groups, they toured extensively in North America and built a substantial overseas following. The group is noted for its self-produced contributions, particularly from members Jooheon and I.M.
