About KARA

Kara were a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media, debuting in March 2007 with the studio album "The First Bloooooming." Originally a quartet, the group went through lineup changes and is most associated with the five-member configuration of Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, Goo Hara, Nicole, and Kang Jiyoung. After a modest start, Kara broke through in 2008 with "Pretty Girl" and became one of the defining girl groups of K-pop's second generation with hits including "Honey," "Mister," and "Step." The choreography for "Mister" was widely popularized and helped drive the group's fame. Kara became major pioneers in the Japanese market, achieving substantial commercial success there and helping open the way for later K-pop acts abroad. Following several departures and a hiatus, Kara reunited for a fifteenth-anniversary project. As a second-generation act, Kara are remembered both for their bright pop catalog and for their pioneering role in K-pop's expansion into Japan.
