Gugudan is a South Korean girl group formed by Jellyfish Entertainment, debuting in June 2016. The group included nine members, among them Kim Sejeong and Kang Mina, who had first gained national attention on the survival show Produce 101 as part of the project group I.O.I. Gugudan favored bright, energetic concepts and showcased strong vocal performances across singles such as "Wonderland," "A Girl Like Me," "The Boots," and "Not That Type." The group also released music through the subunits Gugudan SeMiNa and Gugudan OGUOGU. Although Gugudan did not reach the commercial heights of the era's biggest acts, it served as a launching point for its members, several of whom built notable careers afterward. Kim Sejeong in particular went on to success as a soloist and actress. The group's activities wound down and it disbanded near the end of 2020. Gugudan remains part of the wider third-generation and survival-show story of K-pop.
