Eric Nam, born Nam Yun-do in 1988, is a Korean American singer-songwriter and television host raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to South Korea after appearing on the MBC audition program Star Audition: Birth of a Great Star 2, and made his music debut in 2013 with the extended play Cloud 9. Signed first to B2M Entertainment and later CJ E&M, he released a run of pop and R&B material through the 2010s while also becoming a prominent host and interviewer, notably on Arirang TV's After School Club, which built his reputation with international audiences. In 2021 he left the major-label system and founded his own company, The Eric Nam Company, through which he has released English-language albums such as There and Back Again and House on a Hill aimed at a global listenership. He also co-founded the media venture Dive Studios and the mental-health platform Mindset, and tours widely across North America, Europe, and Asia, positioning himself as a bridge between Korean and Western pop.
