About Baek A Yeon

Baek A-yeon is a South Korean singer and songwriter. She first gained recognition as a contestant on the first season of the television competition K-pop Star, where she finished as the second runner-up. Following the show, she signed with JYP Entertainment and made her recording debut in 2012 with the extended play I'm Baek and its single "Sad Song." Working primarily in ballad, pop, and R&B styles, she released a series of extended plays and singles over the following years, including the singles "Shouldn't Have" featuring Young K and "So-So," alongside the EPs Bittersweet, Dear Me, and Observe. Her contract with JYP Entertainment ended in 2019, after which she signed with Eden Entertainment and continued releasing music independently of her former agency. Known for her vocal delivery on emotional mid-tempo and ballad material, she has also contributed songs to numerous television soundtracks over the course of her career, building a catalog centered on introspective songwriting.
