About AOA

AOA is a South Korean girl group formed by FNC Entertainment, debuting in 2012. The group was introduced with a flexible concept that included both a full band unit and a dance-performance unit, an unusual setup at the time, before finding its biggest success as a dance group. AOA reached wide popularity in the mid-2010s with a string of catchy, retro-tinged singles including "Short Hair," "Like a Cat," "Heart Attack," and "Excuse Me," becoming one of the most recognizable girl groups of their era. Members pursued acting, hosting, and solo music, with Seolhyun and others building public profiles beyond the group. AOA's fandom is named Elvis. The lineup changed over the years and group activity wound down by the early 2020s. AOA is generally placed among the second-generation girl groups of the early 2010s, remembered for a polished performance style and a series of hits that defined a stretch of that period.
