AKMU, formerly known as Akdong Musician, is a South Korean sibling duo made up of Lee Chan-hyuk and Lee Su-hyun. The pair rose to prominence by winning the 2013 season of the televised competition "K-pop Star" and debuted on April 7, 2014 under YG Entertainment with the studio album "Play," an immediate commercial and critical success. Known for Lee Chan-hyuk's songwriting and Lee Su-hyun's clear vocals, AKMU built a reputation for melodic, lyric-driven pop and folk that set them apart from typical idol-group output. Singles such as "200%," "How People Move," and "Love Lee" became long-running domestic hits, and the duo has remained a fixture on Korean charts across more than a decade of activity. Praised for their musicianship and self-composed material, AKMU are considered one of the most respected acts to come out of K-pop's third generation.
